Tom adopts and subverts traditional drawing techniques using graphite and charcoal to create tonal contrasts that reveal the intricate details of his uncanny figures. ‘Gloom’ depicts a solitary figure sat in an empty space loosely holding a flower, creating a visual tactility with his bold tonal variations.
