Utilising a monochrome black and white colour palette, Hamed’s multilayered piece is described as ‘loosely based on objects with contentious histories… which have been lost, displaced or stolen’. The works have both strong cultural and personal significance. The idea of hazy memories and dreams is a recurrent theme in Hamed’s works, evoked through the traces of light beams and movement.
