This sculpture represents a pivotal convergence in Brandt's practice. Created as part of the ongoing 'No Place Like Home' series (2024-2025), it reflects on his upbringing in inner-city Bristol and the role of Hip-Hop as both expression and escape. Influenced by a childhood steeped in music, his father a musician, the work rotates slowly on a turntable, embracing itself in a gesture that is both comforting and collapsing. It embodies a tension between resilience and vulnerability, speaking to how music and culture can uplift amidst personal adversity.
