Shannon uses acrylics and spray paints to create layered compositions embedded with symbolism that centralise black womanhood as a source of knowledge, while telling stories of intersectionality and cultural practices. She uses African textile culture as inspiration for the foundation of her pieces, re-appropriating the symbolic nature of African fabrics.
