Shin Aduwa

East London-ite Shin Aduwa studied for an MA in fashion knitwear at Central St Martins with a Sarabande scholarship, having been selected by Sarabande patron, Nick Knight. She graduated in 2018. Her work is her “escapism” and her process is messy – working on the floor surrounded by books and works in progress creates an overall “scatty” look. Shin explains that she focuses on two or three things from within that pile that could turn into something exciting. Her work is personal and has its roots firmly within her family dynamic, and the person who remains her main driving force – her mother.
