Kitty McMurray

Northumbria University

MFA Fine Art

After a year working full time while trying to continue her practise, Northumbria BA graduate, Kitty was able to accept a place on the MFA after receiving a full Sarabande scholarship. Kitty’s practise looks at urban spaces -  the relationship between locations -  and the thoughts she has around the ‘betrayal of space’.

The nature of Kitty’s work throws up a lot of questions and she likes to unpack these ideas through dialogue with others. Chosen by artist Hugo Wilson, Kitty has a unique way of analysing the spaces around her, her process always starting with screen-printing which is then taken out of the studio and into real sites.
