Paolo Carzana

Paolo Carzana is the welsh designer behind namesake label Paolo Carzana. Working with plant based, recycled, organic and repurposed materials, natural dyes and handmade construction, Carzana’s garments explore the tensions between strength and fragility.

Carzana made his LFW presentation debut in September 2022 with SS23 collection Imagine We Could Be the Ones to Change It All. His catwalk debut followed in February 2023 with AW23 collection Queer Symphony, widely applauded as ‘the opening of another chapter in the fairy story of London fashion’ (Sarah Mower, Vogue). These much anticipated collections succeeded his lockdown collection, Another World, presented at LFW DiscoveryLab in June 2021. Hat maker Nasir Mazhar, collaborates with Carzana on headwear and sculpture.

Carzana is a current recipient of the British Fashion Council NEWGEN award and is an artist in residence at the Sarabande Foundation established by Lee Alexander McQueen. Prior, the designer has received the British Fashion Council and Kering Scholarship for Sustainability, LVMH Grand Prix Scholarship and the James Pantyfedwen Scholarship to enable his MA education at Central Saint Martins.

Carzana interned at Walter Van Beirendonck and Versus Versace during his Bachelors at University of Westminster.
