Salvatore Pione (b. 1995, Messina, Sicily) is a multidisciplinary artist who creates works that engages with themes of grotesque theatricality, camp, and remembrance. His artistic practice is deeply influenced by the customs and traditions of his homeland, Sicily. Often, the places and experiences of his childhood serve as profound inspiration for Piones creations.
At the heart of Piones practice is a hands-on approach to materials. Working with traditional mediums such as wood and steel in contemporary and innovative ways. This labor-intensive process not only honors the craftsmanship of the past but also redefines the possibilities of these materials in the present. By blending traditional techniques with modern sensibilities, he creates works
that resonate aesthetically and conceptually on multiple levels.
Pione holds a degree in 2D Animation from Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Turin, a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from the University of the Arts London, and a Master’s in Fine Arts from Goldsmiths, University of London. Pione’s work has been exhibited internationally in several
