Kate Goodrich (b. 1977, East London) is a multidisciplinary artist who uniquely grows the materials for her practice, creating art about nature with nature. Preserving flora with traditional methods, Goodrich fuses her specimens with distorted sheet glass, camera-less photography, collage, and painting. A non-interventionist approach runs through her work, as she draws on a broad knowledge base that takes her outside the studio, working with the environment rather than against it.
She recently completed a month-long residency in Senegal with the prestigious Josef and Anni Albers Foundation (@Thread_senegal), where her work was deeply influenced by the landscape and experience. This residency inspired her to create permanent land art and sculptural forms that invite conversation and collaboration.
Goodrich’s work has been published in The New York Times, FT Weekend, The Independent. Her works are held in private collections globally and are part of the Museum of British Folklore’s permanent collection.
