Get to know our artists and designers who are redefining sustainability through their work. From repurposing dead-stock fabric to transforming discarded materials to make stunning artworks, these artists are proving that innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. Art and fashion can be both eco-friendly and impactful—helping to reduce waste, utilising natural resources, and create a more sustainable way of creating.
CLARA PINTO
Focused on experimental textiles, Clara uses organic fibres, bio-plastics and by-products (such as wool and hair) to create innovative textures. With the use of natural dyes, different felting techniques and specific embroidery stitches, wool is shaped in unexpected forms to create irreplaceable patterns for her collections.

RENATA BRENHA
Renata's textiles are mainly developed in-house, through artisanal techniques and carefully chosen materials that would otherwise be considered as waste. Her eponymous label has the aspiration to push sustainable methods and craftsmanship to develop a new creative practice able to face the collective challenges of our times.

DARCEY FLEMING
Traditional techniques and the use of discarded and humble materials are central to Fleming’s practice. Darcey uses bailing twine found in the countryside, and transforms them through her self developed weaving process.

MICHAELA STARK
Panty, founded by Michaela Stark is crafted from dead-stock fabric, sourced from luxury and Couture fashion houses in France, Italy and England. Using deadstock helps to reduce waste, lower our carbon footprint and saves on the natural resources required to make new fabrics.

KUNIKO MAEDA
Kuniko Maeda's practice is rooted in material processes with a strong influence in design aesthetics informed by her subject specialism, sustainability. She mainly works with paper, partly because of its many common uses, easy availability, recyclability and it's therefore unappreciated nature.

MARTINA SPETLOVA
Alongside Martina's iconic design aesthetic, Martina is committed to sustainability and ethical sourcing throughout her supply chain. Forever scanning the horizon for innovative approaches, Martina now applies cutting-edge blockchain technology to her pieces. Each design comes with a scannable chip detailing its materials, sourcing and processes, to provide a fascinating digital life story for each piece.

From repurposed leather to sustainable paper works, these artists know how to turn waste into unforgettable pieces.
