Daniel Rey is a Venezuelan-Spanish multidisciplinary artist. His work spans performance, painting, moving image, and installation, aiming to generate ‘Meditative Environments’ rooted in challenging conventional constructs of masculinity within patriarchal societies, his practice explores the intersection of queer bodies, the built environment, and spirituality.

Daniel’s background in architecture influences the creation of ‘Environments of Imagination,’ immersive worlds that envision the emancipation of queer and migrant individuals from societal power structures.

As a queer Venezuelan migrant, his work orbits
within London’s Queer and Latin communities. His performances feature ‘unchoreographed acts’ with individuals from these communities, collectively becoming ‘the artwork’ and fostering a sense of community.
Rey recently completed his MA in Fine Arts from Central Saint Martins.

His work has been awarded the LVMH Maison/0 The Earth Award in 2023. Recent exhibitions include solo presentations such as ‘Symbiotic Encounters’ at CCA RCA (2024) and ‘What Time Leads the Willing Body to Do’ at The Koppel Project (2023).
