New scholars from Central St Martins in 2014 include John Alexander Skelton, MA Fashion Design and Francesca Kappo, BA Fashion with Knitwear. Chosen by Giles Deacon, John is on the MA Fashion Menswear programme and aims for his work to have a socio-political meaning, as well as being as sustainable as possible.

This year Sarabande is also launching a new Scholarship programme on the MFA at Slade School of Fine Art, part of University College London. The first Slade scholar is a Romanian-born painter called Mircea Teleaga, whose evocative landscapes caught the eye of artist Dinos Chapman, who assisted Sarabande in selecting Mircea for this coveted scholarship of both tuition fees and maintenance grant.
