Sarabande Digital Series, Part I & II

Sarabande Digital Series

In the age of digital, where new laws on content, copyright and ownership are being passed with regularity, how can we keep on top of the complex subject?

Part I - 11th October, 7 - 9pm

For Part I of Sarabande’s Digital Series we welcomed experts Ruth Burstall and Iona Silverman from global leading law firm Baker McKenzie, who will be talking to Navaz Batliwalla on the intricacies of image rights and ownership in the digital age; the difficulties of protecting digital images; use / misuse of images and advertising / commercialising products on social media. Navaz is a former magazine fashion director who is now a freelance editorial consultant and also runs Disneyrollergirl.net, the go-to online resource for fashion and beauty insights. Her blog has been recommended by i-D, The Times and Financial Times.

Part II - 12th October, 7 - 9pm

For Part II of the digital series we were looking at how to build your digital strategy with Karinna Nobbs; a freelance acedemic, strategist and published author who guest lectures and researches on the digital transformation of the fashion industry at London College of Fashion, Conde Nast College of Fashion and Design, AMFI, ESCP Business School, Antwerp Management School and Parsons New York. Nobbs is currently working with hybrid creative technology agency Holition where she leads on insight and strategy and at Business of Fashion where she designs their education courses. Karinna will be talking to Lauren Indvik; Head of News and Features at Vogue International, developing global news and features that run across the 11 directly-owned digital editions of Vogue, including the UK, Paris, Italy, China, Russia and Japan.

With thanks to Baker McKenzie for their support of the Digital Series
