Photo London 2025

House of Bandits is delighted to announce our participation for Photo London’s tenth edition at Somerset House! For the fair, we have curated an exciting selection of previously unseen work by nine Sarabande artists, each celebrating their unique intricacies of materiality and process.
With a central booth in the Discovery (D09) section of the fair, we are exhibiting new, unseen work by nine Sarabande artists, championing female-led contemporary photography. Expect to see a focus on process and materiality that pushes boundaries of the discipline.
15-18 May 2025 (Preview Day 14 May)
The House of Bandits booth at Photo London will feature new work by the following artists:
At Sarabande, our artists are always the driving force. To mark our Photo London debut, we caught up with the nine exhibiting photographers, offering a closer look at their practice and the work they’ll be showing.
Events programme
Our events programme will have demonstration evenings including Kasia Wozniak's wet plate collodian technique, Almudena Romero's use of light-based processes and bio-material and Petite Doll aka Giulia Grillo present in her full half lobster and half human character.
15th May
12-6pm: Meet Crab Girl with Petite Doll aka Giulia Grillo
“Once upon a time, there was a girl with hands like no other - big red claws, like those of a lobster...Who dared to put her in captivity? Who was she truly running from? Was it the world that judged her, or perhaps it was herself?”
Petite Doll crafts visual stories of longing like fairy tales; using meticulously created props and costume, she inhibits imagined characters who delve into the complexities of identity and the human need for connection. Join Petite Doll who will be on House of Bandits’ booth in character as Crab Girl, a character who has appeared in her work since 2018.
16th May
12-2.30pm: Inside the Pigment Change with Almudena Romero
Trained as a 19th century photography expert, Almudena Romero’s current practice uses photographic processes occurring in plants such as photosynthesis and photoperiodicity to create art that grows, fossilizes and disappears. Join Almudena on Friday 16th May as she takes up residency on House of Bandits’ booth to learn more about her use of the light-based processes found in plants that promote a more expansive understanding of the photographic medium, beyond the usual digital vs analogue dichotomy.
17th May
3pm: Director-led tour of House of Bandits
Join Trino Verkade on House of Bandits' booth at 3pm for a unique insight into the exhibition and an opportunity to learn more about the stories behind this new body of work created for Photo London.
12 - 6 pm: Step Behind the Camera with Kasia Wozniak
Working predominantly with analogue, specifically the wet plate collodion technique, Sarabande alumnus Kasia Wozniak’s work investigates the tangibility of the photograph and how we view images today. Kasia will be on the House of Bandits booth with one of the antique cameras she uses to make her work.
