Scholar Ruby Wroe explains that she discovered her principal practice during the final year of her BA at Camberwell College of Arts. Working outside of a fixed medium, her process involves the continuous referencing of works by performance artists, writers and dancers, citing Ana Mendieta, Sherrie Levine, bell hooks, Claudia Rankine and Yvonne Rainer as some of her major influences. Her work often spans written and verbal speech, video, performance and installation. She describes her work as "something of a process rather than a product."Ruby was chosen for a Sarabande scholarship by Sadie Coles, owner and director of Sadie Coles HQ.
