Andrea Dritschel is “drawn to the weird and wonderful” and understands the fashion industry to have practically no limits, enabling her to bring anything in her imagination to life. She uses new technologies when making jewellery, systems that relate to the way she sees the modern world, and techniques that push the boundaries of traditional goldsmithing.
Chosen by Sarabande patron and jeweller Shaun Leane, Andrea makes pieces that change with the wearer, citing that “we are never the same today as we were yesterday”. This is possible by using thermo-chromic materials that change with heat, and new biological polymers that react to changes in the environment.
