Torishéju Dumi

TORISHÉJU, founded by Torishéju Dumi, is a womenswear and menswear label redefining contemporary fashion through the study of shape, form, and fabric, blending timelessness with urgency. Each collection challenges the familiar, introducing friction and vitality through surreal reinterpretations of structure and proportion. Born in North-West London, Dumi’s early exposure to fashion came through her mother’s passion for 19th-century design and art, which filled their family home. Her Nigerian-Brazilian, Catholic upbringing also informs her work, with religion, tradition, and spirituality serving as enduring themes.

Through TORISHÉJU, she expands notions of Black artistry, drawing on the folklore and rituals of her heritage to present a deeply personal vision. Her silhouettes move beyond conventional cultural signifiers, embracing abstract, free-associative forms that use surrealism and the subconscious to amplify identity.
