Philip Pope

Philip Pope is a jeweller specialising in enamelling, drawn to the unique qualities of fired glass as a medium for reflecting the forms and colours of the natural world. His practice is informed by the stillness and wild beauty of the English countryside, where he spends much of his time outside the city.

This connection to the landscape shapes his interest in the way pigments merge in the heat of the kiln, mirroring the shifting colours of nature. By exploring states of separation and blending, he creates pieces with undulating textures and subtle emotional resonance. 

Committed to the slow, ancient processes of his craft, Philip values the simplicity and inherent beauty of his materials. Unlike contemporary plastic resins, he works exclusively with traditional coloured glass for its depth, luminosity, and the way it bears the marks of the maker, producing jewellery that is timeless, tactile, and resonant.
