Sarabande Foundation is a leading arts and cultural foundation with exhibition space and artist studios based in N1. Established by Lee Alexander McQueen, Sarabande supports the most creatively fearless visionaries of the future across art, design, film, and contemporary craftsmanship.

Working as part of a small, passionate team, the intern needs to be focused and creatively minded, with strong organisational skills and an interest in visual communication. You’ll be involved in how content is captured, structured, and presented across digital platforms, gaining insight into how visual ideas are developed and communicated.

This is an internship opportunity in a forward-thinking and fast-paced organisation. The successful applicant will assist with activities related to the Digital team, contributing to how the Foundation’s work is visually documented and shared.

Key Requirements

  • An interest in filming, photography, and creating digital content, with an eye for composition and visual storytelling
  • Familiarity with Adobe software (InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Photoshop)
  • A passion for design, visual culture, and art direction
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build quality relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Confidence and professionalism when interacting with others
  • Motivation and commitment;able to meet the demands of a busy environment with enthusiasm
  • Willingness to perform varied tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment
  • Strong time management; punctual, reliable, and capable of managing workload and priorities effectively

The Role

The purpose of this role is to assist the Digital team at Sarabande with the following tasks:

  • Conducting research for specific digital or communications projects, including visual references and content inspiration
  • Updating the website’s news and events pages, ensuring content is presented clearly and visually aligned
  • Capturing film and photography for artist activities, foundation-led projects, and events, with an awareness of composition, framing, and visual consistency
  • Assisting the Digital and Events teams in developing and implementing social media content, including contributing ideas, references, and visual direction for Instagram
  • Monitoring and updating social media accounts (with prior approval from the Digital team)
  • Researching and communicating the activities of those affiliated with Sarabande to help grow the Foundation’s digital presence
  • Managing the Sarabande archive—organising digital files and visual assets in a structured and accessible way
  • Supporting both the Digital and Events teams with day-to-day tasks
  • Assisting with general operations at the Foundation
  • Helping to prepare marketing collateral and press materials, ensuring visual consistency across all outputs

Working within a small, collaborative team, you’ll gain hands-on experience contributing to projects, while developing an understanding of how visual content and digital communication are shaped within a cultural organisation.
