11 In-Store Residencies and Counting! Meet the Artists at our Selfridges Pop-Up

Our first fortnight in Selfridges has seen our workstation hot-seat causing a buzz in-store. In this space, we've shown off live painting demos, wooden jewellery carving, 3D pen accessory construction, tentacle pottery, hand felted fashion and more, all from our talented Sarabande artists!
In his classic style, Leyman used our workstation to experiment with new sketches that juxtaposed playful cartoon-like imagery with dark and melancholic themes.
Daisy's practice often explores an anatomical 'undressing' and distortion of her subject matter. Daisy showed her process of hand-sewing her 'squishy' textile sculptures whilst working on a giant horses head at our workstation.
Creating clay from kitchen products and papier-mâché out of household chemicals, Elgersma's work is rooted in her formal training as a ceramicist, just with a couple of jokes thrown in. For Emmely's in-store residency, she did a series of drawings with oil pastels reflecting her 3D works.
George Richardson's sculpture and painting practice is a continual process of ‘making sense of.’ Working mainly with wood and metal casting, Richardson bends, exaggerates, and changes the material or form of an object. For George's in-store residency, he showed of his process by completing a series of sketches.
Karina caught on-lookers attention through meticulously drawing each line of her intricate sculptural accessories with a 3D pen.
Hamed showed off his process using stencils and watercolour to create abstract patterns and forms, all in his signature black and blue colour palette.
Clara artfully combined different shades of naturally dyed wool to demonstrate her felting work, showcasing the process behind her bold sculptural fashion pieces.
With a practice rooted in material processes and sustainability, Kuniko created her signature wood cut jewellery live at our workstation. No surprises that they were bought up on the spot!
Camilla used our workstation to live sculpt her signature tentacle vessels. Camilla’s work dives into themes like time, sexuality, cultural identity, and the body—often with a mix of humour and something a little more thought-provoking.
Izaak demonstrated his experimental craftmanship influenced by contemporary fashion and break dance culture through his hand-drawn PLA sculptures.
Stephen is no stranger to live painting performances and used our workstation to watercolour whilst sharing his life learnings through his work.
