WORKSHOP: 'Figure & Space: Life Drawing' with Antonia Caicedo Holguín
In this session, participants are invited to explore the relationship between the human figure and its surrounding space. Working from a live model staged with sculptural elements, including textiles, plants, and a traditional Colombian hat, you’ll consider how figure and environment interact within a single composition.
Led by Antonia Caicedo Holguín, whose practice explores memory, intimacy, and diasporic experience through colour, composition, and spatial tension, the session will unfold through a series of 20-minute poses with short breaks. Antonia will introduce a range of approaches to drawing, including working from dark to light (and vice versa), and composing the figure in relation to its wider spatial setting.
Open to all levels, the workshop supports both observational accuracy and expressive mark-making. Basic materials, including ink, charcoal, pencils, and paper, will be provided, though participants are welcome to bring their own.
