Tips for Securing Funding from The Arts Council
The Arts Council invests £3.6 million per year in creative practitioners, allowing them to do ambitious research and development and make a step-change in their practice. There are four rounds of funding per year, open to individuals working with their supported disciplines.
The National Lottery Project Grant awards funds from £1,000 - £15,000 and £15,000 - £100,000, to anything from productions and exhibitions, touring work, participatory projects, festivals, carnivals, public art, artistic research and development and residencies. The key things they look for when reading an application are quality, public engagement, finance and management.
Developing your Creative Practice is a new development fund designed to support independent creative practitioners to ensure excellence is thriving in the arts and culture sector. This fund will create more pathways for individuals from a range of creative practices and backgrounds and funds of between £2,000 - £10,000 can be awarded for research and development opportunities, building new networks or creating new works.
The Arts Council will be at Sarabande to discuss the fund, exploring both successful and unsuccessful applications to give top tips on how to apply for these amazing grants.
