Life Drawing | Animals, Still Life & Sculpture, and Twisted Drag
Sarabande Life Drawing Classes
Sarabande: The Lee Alexander McQueen Foundation presents Sarabande Life Drawing, an alternative series of life drawing workshops. Join us as we open our main space for four unique life drawing sessions, led by Sarabande artists, that will blend traditional life drawing techniques with unconventional subject matters. This is an opportunity to explore light, movement and tone whilst engaging with exciting, unorthodox models.
Exotic Animals - 1 February 2018 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm
In the first edition of Sarabande Life Drawing, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and draw Willow & Wilbur, two beautiful Coatimundi models. Chaperoned by their own trusted and experienced handlers, you’ll get the chance to feed and handle the animals as well as draw them in the space. This workshop will run over two 1-hour sessions at 6pm and 7pm.
Still Life & Sculpture - 8 February 2018 - 6:00pm - 7:30pm
This session will give you the opportunity to explore the forms of a selection of artworks by Sarabande’s artists-in-residence. You will consider the sculptural forms of the works through a variety of different materials, as well as be mentored by the artists themselves.
Twisted Drag with Charity Kase - 1 March 2018 - 6:00pm - 7:30pm
For the final session, we’ll be joined by London drag artist Charity Kase, who’s love for ‘twisted glamour’ translates into stunning, visual transformations. Charity recently completed a self-drive challenge of ‘365 Days Of Drag’, which saw her create an entirely new look consecutively throughout the year. Kase will be creating one of her more macabre looks for attendees to investigate through drawing.
Free materials & goody bags will be avaliable, donated by Winsor & Newton!
