Sarabande designer Paolo Carzana dresses the wonderful Michaela Coel in a custom Paolo Carzana dress for Net-a-porter's Incredible Women’s dinner at the V&A Museum for International Women's Day. The custom dress is hand dyed using natural herbs and spices, crafted with antique silk faille and organic cotton for the lining.

Paolo Carzana is a Welsh London-based designer who crafts collections with organic, plant-based and antique materials. Paolo sculpts his clothing, building emotionally driven silhouettes through creative cutting and delicate construction.

Vegetables, flowers and spices make up the dyes of his fabrics, while his designs strike a the balance between strength and fragility. An earth-sensitive and inspired colour palette is created to channel the importance of the handmade, with ornate attention to details and finishing.

Welsh textiles are carved through tailoring and draping in a romantic and deconstructed approach, to showcase a modern luxury built into a world of hope and fight for change.

Paolo recently participated in the LVMH semi-finals alongside Sarabande designer Standing Groundsharing his work with some of the industries most respected figures. The winner of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers will receive €400,000 and a tailored mentorship by LVMH teams.
