D'Oyly Carte: A Performance by Joshua Beaty

D’OYLY CARTE

A PERFORMANCE BY JOSHUA BEATY

29 JULY

17:00 - 20:00

“During the reign of Edward III, a prince could wear a poulaine 24 inches longer than his own foot. Merchants were restricted to just 6. Long toed shoes were thought to serve as sex toys when filled with grass to stiffen them. The length of shoes was subject to papal condemnation”

D’Oyly Carte is a performance by Joshua Beaty inviting the audience to become active and activating participants in the aesthetic exchange of Drawing. Acts of transformation are told in parable; image and tactile experience are reconciled through the materiality of the mark.
