Designing the Ketel One Bar

Designing the Ketel One Bar

September 2016

As part of London Design Week Tord Boontje hosted an exclusive drinks reception for anyone interested in hearing about his inspirations in designing the Ketel One Bar.

Tord explained: “the bar at Sarabande was born from the idea that this could be a place with a sense of drama created by materials, colours and forms. The bar counter has a fang-like shape and is clad with a skin of copper scales. A wall of one hundred floating clear bottles sparkles brightly adding a kind of eerie madness to the space. The transparent red plastic curtain and the red PVC cladded windows are designed to transform the outside into a seemingly ominous world. This feeling is counterbalanced by the dreamy beauty of the floral chandelier meandering along the back wall”

The unique artistic Ketel One Vodka bar installation represents the partnership between both Ketel One Vodka and Sarabande and is designed to be a permanent feature at the Sarabande Studios in Haggerston, providing a stunning backdrop for Sarabande events.
