Yodea Williams Braham
Central Saint Martins
BA Fashion Design Menswear
Prior to studying BA Menswear at Central Saint Martins, Yodea-Marquel completed a Level 1, 2 and 3 in Pattern Cutting and Sewing. Following this, they went on to create a five piece collection for London Queer Fashion Show. Yodea-Marquel went on to start their pre-degree with Central Saint Martin’s Fashion Folio, which helped them flesh out their perspective as a designer.
On an idiosyncratic journey to reconnect to their Black indigenous ancestors, Yodea uses their work as a medium to explore and react to their interpersonal experiences. Inspired by their Jamaican lineage and childhood memories of growing up in inner city London, their cultural background acts as an irreplaceable bridge that links their artistic practice to their own individuality.
