“My time at Sarabande was very special to me. It gave me creative freedom, a space to find my voice without judgement or imposed restrictions. It has and continues to support and mentor me and has been fundamental to me finding my path and confidence.”
Jo Miller studied MA Millinery at The Royal College of Art, graduating in 2014. From there she went on to work for Stephen Jones in his couture model department for three years. Jo spent two years at Sarabande sharing a studio with fellow milliner, Leo Carlton. During this time, she focused on gaining valuable experience collaborating on headwear for different designers such as Sophia Webster, alongside developing her own practice. Her time at Sarabande culminated in an exhibition with Leo Carlton showcasing the collections they worked on while in residence entitled, HEADF*CK: A Millinery Testament. Jo currently has her own studio specialising in material and process-led design, working specifically in fashion. In her most recent work ‘Crush Companions’ she explored inflation and crushing through material and process.
