The Craftsman's Dinner: Celebrating 10 years of Sarabande
We celebrated ten incredible years of Sarabande Studios and the vibrant power of creative communities with a very special night at Decimo, The Standard, London. Our Craftsman’s Dinner brought together artists, designers, and friends for an evening of culture, food, and festivities—all in support of the work we do at Sarabande.
In Sarabande tradition, the evening was a feast for the senses. Guests including Gwendoline Christie, Riz Ahmed, Nabhaan Rizwan, and Daniel Roseberry mingled with the talented artists and designers we support, enjoying sublime dishes amid installations and films that transformed the restaurant into a living gallery.
A highlight of the night was a breathtaking live performance by Sarabande artist Darcey Fleming, who reimagined her iconic twine sculptures through a dynamic dance performance weaving through the room in a swirl of color. Above, a bold installation hung from the ceiling, celebrating the wide spectrum of creative disciplines we champion, from photography and fashion to painting and film. Every table was adorned with plates designed by exceptional creatives, including Tim Burton and Ridley Scott, which our guests were able to take home as unique mementos of the evening.
Our director, Trino Verkade, shared: “We brought together the best of the creative industries to celebrate ten years of Sarabande’s studios and our support of hundreds of artists and designers. Events like this are vital—they allow us to continue nurturing the next generation of artists at a time when true innovation and craftsmanship are under threat. These artists are the creative lifeblood of London and the UK.”
Thanks to the generosity of our guests, the evening also raised funds for Sarabande. Those who donated had the chance to win remarkable artworks by our alumni, including Michaela Yearwood-Dan, Jo Grogan, and Kasia Wozniak, with the support of our gallery, House of Bandits. We were also thrilled to continue our partnership with The Standard, which shares our mission of empowering emerging artists and generously opens its spaces to help us bring these creative visions to life.
If our mission inspires you and you’d like to help us continue supporting the next generation of artists and designers, you can make a donation here. Every contribution helps us provide the resources, spaces, and opportunities that keep creative communities thriving.
