Paolo Carzana

With a commitment to sustainable practice, Carzana was awarded a number of scholarships to help him complete his education, including the LVMH Grand Prix scholarship and British Fashion Council Kering Scholarship for Sustainability.

Carzana’s work is driven by emotion, working with brown paper in 3D to hand craft silhouettes. Carzana pattern cuts, constructs and hand-makes his work from start to finish. Working with a mix of Plants and the past, his fabrics include bamboo silk, organic cotton and Pineapple Leather, hand dyed in a concoction of natural dyes and therapeutic oils, contrasted with second hand materials. As part of Carzana’s practice, he works in education to help support other young people from working class backgrounds, to access the creative sector.
