INSPIRED : Edmund de Waal

28 MARCH

19:00 - 21:00

Doors open at 19:00 for refreshments and talk starts at 19:30 on the dot!

Knowingly or not, you don't have to deep dive through your 'arts and culture' memory box before you strike an instance in which you've encountered Edmund de Waal. Most recently: the unexpected room in Hayward Gallery's Strange Clay, almost any room in the V&A, a stroll through Burlington Arcade...

Best known for his distinctive ceramics with mesmerising celadon glaze, modern Bauhaus inspired pots and freestanding vitrines, and with a philosophy rooted in the belief that porcelain is where the East and West meet, de Waal has been instrumental in sculpting our modern ceramics landscape.

Ceramics is certainly having its moment, but it's artists like Edmund de Waal who prove that they have always been hot commodity.

With this INSPIRED talk, de Waal will unlock some stories of his process, career and journey - it promises to be a good one.
