GET YOUR FILM SEEN! Lights, Camera, Action!

NOWNESS and Dazed's Bunney Kinney teamed up with music video director/ filmmaker Saam Farahmand and 'The Film Festival Doctor', Dr. Rebekah Louisa Smith for a film screening and talk at Sarabande.

Music Video Director and filmmaker Saam Farahmand showed us his new short-film 'A Portrait of the Artist Angus Fairhurst' that dramatises a moment in 1991 from the life of notoriously indefinable YBA artist Angus Fairhurst. His film has been accepted in the Edinburgh Internation Film Festival. Farahmand is the brains behind Electric Six's 'Gay Bar' Video.

Creative Director of NOWNESS and Editorial Director of Dazed Media, Bunny Kinney, also showed us a special short film. Kinney has made films, and creatively directed for i-D, Medea, Maison Margiela, Coach x Kiko Mizuhara and Burberry. He is one the most sought after creatives right now.

Dr. Rebekah Louisa Smith of 'The Film Festival Doctor' gave us the know-how to get your film seen, discovered and distributed --through digital platforms and film festivals, by asking and questioning the filmmakers themselves.

Doctor Rebekah Louisa Smith- 'The Film Festival Doctor', began her film industry career in 2008, working as a producer on Wales’ most successful national horror film festival, the brilliantly-named Abertoir Horror Festival. In 2018, Rebekah worked extensively on the feature length documentary George Michael Freedom: The Director’s Cut which has been screened at over 25 international festivals. It has won 5 awards and was shown in competition at the 26th Raindance Film Festival.

The Film Festival Doctor has assisted on triumphant film festival and awards campaigns for Martin Kemp’s Stalker, The Boy With A Camera For A Face (45 festivals and 13 awards), Arrivederci Rosa (25 festivals), Beyond The River (winner of 2 SAFTA awards, the South African BAFTAs), Commune (30 festivals including the BAFTA-qualifying London Short Film Festival), Soldier Bee (BAFTA-recognised Aesthetica Short Film Festival), Placebo: Alt. Russia (International Film Festival Rotterdam), the BAFTA- shortlisted documentary Noma: Forgiving Apartheid and the South African long-listed Oscar entry film Kalushi: The Story Of Solomon Mahlangu.

So whether you're making a fashion film, short, mini-doc, get it off your desktop, get it into festivals; Raindance, Odense, BFI, Sundance, Slamdance, or online platforms, Nowness, Amazon Netflicks, Youtube. Between the three they have worked with our hero Lee Alexander McQueen, Janet Jackson, Mick Jagger, Tom Vek, Campbell Addy, Kate Moss, Travis Scott, Diana Kruger, Soulwax, Electric Six, Klaxons, Mark Ronson, and more.
