Fashion Open Studio with Cecily Ophelia and Kamums at House of Bandits
Join Cecily Ophelia at House of Bandits for the screening of a short film exploring her practice and craft community in Kampala, Uganda.
Cecily will be at House of Bandits to discuss the film and share her special insight into the making processes behind her meticulously hand-crafted pieces. The designer will also be demonstrating the beading techniques that go into making her latest Molly bag, which is beaded with approximately 1,130 'Mabona' seeds and the same number of watermelon seeds. Cecily’s bags are made in collaboration with Kanyoyga Mums, an incredible group of craftswomen based in the Kanyogoga district of Kampala, Uganda, who do all the beadwork for the CECILY X KAMUMS pieces.
Cecily's collection of beaded bags and hats will be available for purchase at House of Bandits.
If you are keen to be inspired and learn a trick or two in beading, this event can be the perfect opportunity!
